Please be sure to read and sign your child’s planner each night. The planner is the communication tool between school and home. We now have Blue Communication Folders that go home each day and come back to school each day. There are two sections of the Communications Folder. The “Return to School” section has a green sticker and has papers included that need to be returned to school, such as homework, papers that need to be signed, etc. The “keep at home” section has a red sticker. The papers in this section need to be kept at home. This will include papers such as graded work, fliers, etc.

Word lists are going home with the students each week. These lists include vocabulary and spelling. We have a spelling test each Friday, or the last school day of the week if that day is Thursday. The vocabulary lists contain words that are very important first grade students to learn to read. Please practice these words with your child every night.
If your child is going to go home a different way than he/she usually goes home, please send a note to Mrs. Roberts on a full size sheet of paper indicating the child’s name, teacher’s name, parent’s name, date, and how the child will be going home.
